Dr. Conner-Warren attended Wayne State University (WSU) College of Nursing (CoN) where she obtained her Bachelor (1984), Master (1994) and PhD (2007) degrees in nursing as well as a post master’s certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (1999). Dr. Warren has worked for over 30 years specializing in the care of children and their families. Dr. Warren was primarily trained in pediatric nursing at Children’s Hospital of Michigan (CHM) as a staff nurse then as a nurse clinician. When she achieved her post master certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner she provided primary care services to the children at CHM’s Sickle Cell Center and later managed the Campbell School Based-Health Center.
She currently teaches physical assessment and pharmacology at WSU CoN in the pediatric nurse practitioner program. “Dr. Rhonda” is the name chosen by the children she serves where she volunteers her services at Health Centers of Detroit-Jefferson Clinic.
