Non-surgical TMJ rehabilitation and joint-based dental occlusion. Phase 1 is orthopedic splinting with adjustments for rehabilitation. Minimally invasive, reversible, and medically sound. Damaged TM joints can make healthy adaptations, stabilize, provide good function and become pain free or relatively pain free. Joints are allowed to seat normally with non-directive orthotic rehabilitation. Phase 2 adjusts the fit of the teeth so they precisely match the seated, well-adapted TM joints. Because the joints are seated and stabilized in Phase I, the bite can be adjusted with precision to match the TM joints. This protocol follows medical guidelines established by the State of Tennessee Insurance Commission and generally accepted orthopedic standards for care that is minimally invasive.
